How To Prepare For A 3D/4D Ultrasound
Preparing For A 3D/4D Ultrasound. Frequently Asked Questions
What is a 2D, 3D, 4D, and HD Ultrasound?
2D means it is a 2-dimensional, flat, black, and white image. For a 3D image, sound waves are produced at multiple angles and produce a 3-dimensional image with depth, almost like a 3D movie. The image has different color hues that give a life like picture allowing you to see what your unborn baby will actually look like. 4D is multiple 3D images frames put together over time to create a movie. You will be able to observe movements like yawning, waving, or playing Peek-A-Boo in real time! HD “High Definition” is the newest, safest, ultrasound technology. HD images are still in orangish-tan color, but is far more clearer than the dated 3D/4D technology. The motion is also faster.
Will This Ultrasound Take The Place of an Ultrasound Ordered By My Doctor?
Absolutely not! All of our ultrasounds are elective and should never be done in place of a diagnostic ultrasound ordered by your doctor.
What If I Don't Want To Know The Gender?
No problem! The area of the baby’s gender can easily be avoided throughout the ultrasound. We are also happy to notify a bakery of your choice of the gender or provide you with the gender determination in a seal envelope.
